Long Time No Blog

Sorry its been a little while. Its been nice having Greg home this week, gotta get used to feeding two babies at once again next week I guess. They are really getting more and more mobile. We're getting measured for new carpet on the first floor on Wednesday. Yay, new carpet! Maybe then the walls will stop closing in so much. If nothing else, moving everything around to put the new carpet in will be a good way to 'reset' things and maybe get some junk out.

I'm thinking of putting two dinning room chairs in the basement until we need them. We don't need four and the babies are going to need their highchairs in there soon. I put Julianne in her bouncy seat and went to the kitchen to make her cereal (that if she gets in her mouth to begin with, she spits right back out at me). Came back, and she is sitting straight up. Elena did the same thing later. They are starting to sit for a while with minimal or no help. You know what that means, we're going to story time at the library! You know I'm desperate to get out of the house when that's exciting to me!

Back From PA

We're back! It was a good weekend. We went to the zoo but it was too crowded to get pictures or videos. Guess we should have seen that coming since it was a beautiful day and the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend.

Greg's off all week! Yay, vacation for me too! Instead of feeding two babies, I get to feed just one. And I can actually go places.

We saw our first movie in eons. At least six months, probably more like 7 or 8. It was the new Indiana Jones. Good movie, but the climax was a little strange.

We just went to Max and Erma's with the babies. I don't think Elena ever knew we were there, she spent the whole time sleeping off her weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Sherin. Julianne spent the whole time raspberrying and trying to get Greg's watermelon lemonaide.

Little Bows in Their Hair

The girls and I went out to eat with Michelle today. They were very good. Then Michelle and I took them to my mom's house to drop them off for their normal Friday afternoon over there and she bought them the most adorable little headbands with bows on them. They are so cute and girly in them! I do believe that their outfits for Katie and Andy's wedding is complete!

Claustrophobia

Unintended consequence of the storage cubes that I wanted and now have that block off our railing to keep it safe for the babies and add lots of extra storage room for their stuff...I am SO CLAUSTROPHBIC IN HERE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Elena's a Toy Hog

I just had the babies on a blanket with toys all around, some on Julianne's side, some on Elena's, some in the middle. Greg picked Julianne up to feed her and a couple minutes later, I look down and 10 of the 12 were on Elena's side (the other two were out of her reach).

Watching "The Office" marathon. Love "The Office"!

The girls did great at Tausha's graduation party, which was loads of fun. Elena had some issues but once she napped she was fine. It was beautiful outside with just a few little rainy moments at the end. I had the hardest time figuring out what to dress them in since the forcast was 60 degrees with 45% chance of rain. Ended up with pants, short sleeve shirts and light jackets.

Breaking News...

Elena might be rolling from tummy to back. Haven't seen it yet, but she had moved a little too far when I left the room and came back to have just wiggled over there. She was on her tummy when I left the room, and on her tummy two feet away when I came back.

We found a way to block off the railing by our staircase and get more storage. We now have this huge monstrosity of a cube thingy that they sell at Target in the closet organizing section. I bought navy blue, dark purple, and pink bins for it. They're very cute.

AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!

Wow these kids are wearing me out today. Julianne hasn't taken a single nap after 9 am without a fifteen minue screaming fit first. Elena joined in on the last one.

Go Elena Go!

Elena rolled over! I think it was kind of on accident but I'll take it! She is so stinking cute. She is so happy and smiley when we're at home, but then when we go visit people in an unfamiliar environment, she pouts (if not cries). And with those cheeks and those eyebrows, the girl can pout!

Roller Girl!

Julianne rolled over the other way today! I went to the kitchen to make lunch and she was on her tummy, I came back and she was on her tummy...about three feet away from where she started. A few minutes later I saw her do it again, flipped over from her tummy to her back! Look out world, Julianne is on the move!

I swear she watched Samantha yesterday and decided she can roll around too. She's also trying to straighten her elbows out and pull herself up all the way. I don't think its going to be long before she's really going if not crawling.

Elena on the other hand is fine with being a baby and in no hurry to grow up. She can roll to her side but just kind of stays there. She likes to sleep that way as a matter of fact :)

Can They Stay 5 Months Old?

Bernie and Sam came to visit today with their kids. After spending an hour or so with 5 kids in this house, I'm pretty exhausted.

They girls had a blast, but man-oh-man, watching Sophia and all she can get into, I really can wait for these two to be 2 and a half. I thought I had Sophia-proofed. Apparently not since a lightbulb ended up in the dog food bowl and my candle lighter in a mostly empty glass of water. But nothing broke or got eaten (that we know of) so I guess I did a pretty good job preparing :)

(p.s. pictures from todays visit on the main site)

Anti- Social Elena

Elena is in a phase. She only wants to be held by mommy or daddy. So to everyone who has tried to hold her in the past few weeks, nothing personal!

Bonnie on the Run

Happy Mother's Day everyone! And thank you to my wonderful husband who got me a spa gift card (does he have my number or what?) and my wonderful brother who sent a really cute daisy and rose flower arrangement!

When the flowers were delivered yesterday, Bonnie went running out the door to greet the flower man. Then kept on going to go see her little friend, the westie two doors down. Of course this was the one time she had no collar on since I had taken it off the night before because she was driving me nuts with the clanging! I got her quick enough and luckily the neighbors are nice.

I've spent the past two nights on the babies' floor sleeping on couch cushions since I'm having issues with them being in another room. They sleep just like normal, I have insomnia. Go figure. Friday night was awful with Greg not feeling well, me freaking out about my babies being one room away from me, and then him finally getting called into work at 4 am. Saturday night was better but I still woke up constantly and of course, Bonnie had to share the cushions with me. It was warm in there so I didn't end up using the comforter so Bonnie ended up finding her bed there making us both more comfy. Maybe tonight I can sleep like normal again.

Elena Coo's, Julianne Growls

My baby is a lion cub. Julianne doesn't make baby noises, she growls and raspberries. And says 'uhhhhhh'. She also gets on little screechy kicks.

Farmer's Market today! The girls were SO good. I didn't hear a cry out of them until we were leaving. I think they liked looking around at everything. We bought Caramel Apple Butter, two pies (cherry and strawberry rhubarb) for Grandma Nin's tomorrow, banana walnut bread and a begonia for Grandma Karol for mother's day.

Happenin Friday Night at Our House

Its 10 pm and the girls are in their cribs sleeping (I hope). I've had to go in a few times and stick Elena's binky back in her mouth, but that's not too bad. 10 is actually our normal bed time which may seem early for babies but since sometimes we only get 6 hours of sleep out of them, 4 is better than 2 for waking up.

We ate at the new Rusty Bucket on Polaris. Food was as good as the others'! Tomorrow if all go as planned we may actually get to see a movie for the first time in probably six months! Iron Man is on the agenda. And in the morning, Farmer's Market with Nikki. Hopefully I can pick up some yummy pies to take to my Grandma's house for Mother's Day.

Silence!

The babies are napping upstairs again! We went up at 10:30 and Julianne's been asleep since shortly after that, Elena since 11 or so (she had to put 20 minutes in swinging before she fell asleep.) All I hear now is the buzz of the baby monitor. One of these days I'll stop being so paranoid about not hearing it I can have the TV on while they're napping.

Never mind, I hear leg thumping up there, someone's awake :)

Babies in Cribs

The hair is really short (for me but not short enough to make Greg mad) and really cute.

The girls are sleeping in their cribs right now! They slept in their bassinets all night and then after they got up to eat at 4 whatever we put them back in their cribs. So far so good. I really don't like the 4 whatever wake-ups because at 3 I'll go back to sleep, 5 is okay, but 4 I'm not going back to sleep and its ridiculous to be up since then. I guess if they keep sleeping after Greg leaves I might, but what are the chances of that happening?

Coming up for Air...

I'm about to go get my first haircut since the babies were born and I'm making the first major dinner recipe tonight too! (Turkey Tortilla Casserole from the latest Rachael Ray magazine).

Babies are with their grandma. Before she left with them, we held them both on our laps facing each other. Julianne just cracked up laughing at Elena. So cute!
