What a beautiful wedding on Saturday! Congratulations you two!
Its hard to write in here anymore since one baby or the other insists on being on my lap, and they love to grab for electronics. Remote controls are the favorite, but the laptop is pretty interesting too. Its Elena on my lap right now but she's not close enough to the keyboard to type her own thoughts.
Julianne is now getting up on her hands and knees and rocking, its only a matter of time until she crawls now...
The girls did great at the wedding. It was killing me to be a bridesmaid and not be holding my babies but we made it through. Not like I was lacking help with them anyway. And boy were they adorable in their fancy little dresses and bows in their hair. Hopefully I'll have pictures posted soon. I didn't take any but I know others did.
I restarted Weight Watchers last night and brough Elena along, leaving Julianne home with Daddy. She slept the first half and sat happily the rest (as long as I held her and not anyone else)

Farmer's Market II
Went to the Farmer's Market again with Nikki. This time Bonnie got to come instead of the girls, who stayed home with Daddy. Bonnie was loving her time out. She tried to go into a bunch of stores, including two dress stores and Graeter's ice cream. Meanwhile, she barely paid attention to the fact that there were vendors with food all over the place on the street. (Though they were mainly fruits and veggies, which aren't her favorite.
I bought Strawberry Balsamic Jam (from the same lady who sold me the Caramel Apple Butter last time), a loaf of honey wheat bread, strawberries, and three big pink peonies which are so pretty in the living room! Oh yeah and two pieces of lemon pound cake which lasted about a minute after I got home.
In other news, the girls are going to town on their baby food. Elena finished an entire jar of carrots on her own, she kept opening her mouth like a hungry, hungry hippo. Hopefully we don't see those carrots again later. Tomorrow we start sweet potatoes, and then we move on to the fruits!

Grumpies
Man they were grumpy this afternoon! But they took an actual nap at the same time in their cribs. Woke up grumpy afterward, but mommy actually got to put bottles together and relax a little (for a whole 45 minutes).
Elena slept last night from the drive home from Grammy's house around 8 or so until 8:30 this morning, only getting up to eat once around 5 and went right back to sleep and then a little bit when I put her sleeper on her. Can we have more nights like this?
Julianne also slept until about 7:45 this morning but she woke up at 11 after going to sleep at 9:30 and then again early to eat. Right back to sleep both times, so we'll take it!
We went to the playground and out to lunch with Heidi and Chris yesterday. I think Elena was flirting with him the way she kept smiling and then grabbing his hair like he was a doggie. Guess I'm going to have to watch both my girls with the boys!

A Long Trip
My grandfather passed away on Wednesday morning. He was such a wonderful person I'm going to miss the heck out of him.
But I don't think he really wanted us to leave the state of Indiana when the services were done. We left Friday morning at 7 or so and drove the four hours to Terre Haute, my mom, my brother, my two babies and I all stuffed into my parents' mid-size SUV. It was comfortable, I sat in the back with the babies which was nice so I could immediately take care of their needs rather than wait to stop like usual on our trips. We stayed in a hotel, attended calling hours which started at 3 and went up until the servie which started at 7, got back to the hotel, ordered pizza with my two aunts and two uncles who were staying in the next room and went to bed.
Central Indiana got 10" of rain that night.
The next day, the two aunts and two uncles went back to Columbus after breakfast, ran into some lane closures due to the rain. We went to visit Grandma and everyone in Shelburn one more time, and found out that since the others got through that I-70 between Terre Haute and Indianapolis was closed all together. And all county roads.
So we mapped a route that would take us an hour out of our way to the South that would take us through Bloomington to Indianapolis that way and left at about 2:30. We get that far and boom, road block. Talk to the highway patrolman, and all roads to Indianapolis are flooded. He suggests we find a restaurant and chill out for FIVE OR SIX HOURS and then check back. Um, two babies with us, not happening. Its hotel or find a new route. We start thinking of driving through Louisville because it seems like there's this line to the North when the flooding starts (and the flooding was bad). We'd been on the road two hours about then.
We stopped at the Olive Garden in Bloomington (by the way, the babies can sit in restaurant high chairs now!) and my dad who'd stayed behind in Shelburn for one more day found a new route, I-50 to Cincinnati and up to Columbus from there.
So at 10:30 we pulled into my condo. 8 hours for a 4 hour trip (counting dinner). And we were moving 90% of the time, stuck in traffic hardly at all.
The good news is, we had plenty of formula on hand and the babies handled it great. (And so did I, since I was the real worry with the way I usually break down on trips).
And since there was crazy flooding in their area but their house was fine, there's a chance my Grandma has evacuees as houseguests. I guess that's as good a way to deal with grief as any!

Elena the Instigator
Elena likes to grab Bonnie and her sister. This should be fun as they get older. They both like to snatch each other's toys.

Long Time No Blog
Sorry its been a little while. Its been nice having Greg home this week, gotta get used to feeding two babies at once again next week I guess. They are really getting more and more mobile. We're getting measured for new carpet on the first floor on Wednesday. Yay, new carpet! Maybe then the walls will stop closing in so much. If nothing else, moving everything around to put the new carpet in will be a good way to 'reset' things and maybe get some junk out.
I'm thinking of putting two dinning room chairs in the basement until we need them. We don't need four and the babies are going to need their highchairs in there soon. I put Julianne in her bouncy seat and went to the kitchen to make her cereal (that if she gets in her mouth to begin with, she spits right back out at me). Came back, and she is sitting straight up. Elena did the same thing later. They are starting to sit for a while with minimal or no help. You know what that means, we're going to story time at the library! You know I'm desperate to get out of the house when that's exciting to me!

Back From PA
We're back! It was a good weekend. We went to the zoo but it was too crowded to get pictures or videos. Guess we should have seen that coming since it was a beautiful day and the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend.
Greg's off all week! Yay, vacation for me too! Instead of feeding two babies, I get to feed just one. And I can actually go places.
We saw our first movie in eons. At least six months, probably more like 7 or 8. It was the new Indiana Jones. Good movie, but the climax was a little strange.
We just went to Max and Erma's with the babies. I don't think Elena ever knew we were there, she spent the whole time sleeping off her weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Sherin. Julianne spent the whole time raspberrying and trying to get Greg's watermelon lemonaide.
